Microsoft Office Word
Microsoft Word is a software MS office, the most commonly used software in the world. Microsoft word is used for Letter writing, Resume, Chart, Mail merge etc. It is also known as word processing software. It is also done to write words, make sentences, make paragraphs and create pages. Using this software we can create, Editing and print document. the extension of document created by MS word is ".doc" or ".docx".
Main elements of MS word window
1. Title bar - The bar at the top of the Window is called Title bar, this bar contains the name of the file and the name of the software. The Title bar has three buttons "Minimize, Restore down/Maximize, Close" on the right.
2. Menubar - Menubar has a total of 8 menus. File, Home, Insert, Page layout, References, Mailings, Review, View. Each menu has its own function. The menu is named as per their work. For example, with the help of Insert menu, we can bring and use Image, Clipart, Shapes, Table, Smartart, Chart etc. in document.
3. Ribbon - It opens up all the Tabs options present in the menubar.
4. Group - All options that open in Ribbon are classified into groups according to their scope of work.
5. Ruler - It is located just above the document in the MS Word window. It is used to margin, column and paper set. There are two types of ruler used in MS Word - Horizontal Ruler, Vertical Ruler.
6. Scroll Bar - There are two types of scroll bar in MS word. Vertical Scroll bar and Horizontal scroll bar. Using this, document can be moved up and down and left-right.
7. Status Bar - is at the bottom of the Status bar MS Word window. It consists of Page Number, Word count, Spelling and Grammar, View button, Zoom control option.
8. Taskbar - The lowest strip in window is called taskbar. This taskbar has options like Start button, Date & Time, Volume control button etc.

Save Document
Unless a document is secured in a disk, it only remains stored in the main memory and if for some reason the power goes out or the computer malfunctions, the document is destroyed, i.e., cannot retrieve that file, so every document needs to be save. After save the Document, we can read that document by open at any time.
If a document is first prepared, that file has to be named. Initially MS Word document Document 1, 2, 3 ...... Etc. We can change them to any name. Clicking on option "Save As" on the File menu to save document opens the "Save As" Dialog box. In Dialog box, the file name is given in the file box and its folder name is given in the save in box. We usually save our files in My Document blisters. file type is given in the Save as type listbox. It is generally "Word Document". So that the file name ". Docx" extension is added. It is mandatory to provide this information to save a file for the first time. The file is saved when you click the Save button after filling in the information.
Page formatting and Page setup
It is very important to page setup your Document before taking out a print in MS word. Page size and Margin are set through Page setup.
Print preview in MS word
MS word can be seen on the screen before printing a document through a feature called Print preview, how it will look after it is printed document. Document needs to be checked before printing so that any error in the document can be corrected.
