Browser
A web browser is a software program used to access WWW. Browser takes data from remote servers, collects it and displays the webpage. It is also called client software.
Following are the names of some web browsers -
- Internet Explorer - Microsoft internet explorer is one of the popular browsers nowadays. Internet explorer was launched in 1995.
- Mozilla Firefox - Firefox is popular, free and open source software developed by Mozilla. It is small and fast. Firefox is based on the Mozilla code and is one of the standard complaint browsers available.
- Netscape Navigator - Netscape was the first commercial Internet browser. It was introduced in 1994, but soon lost its popularity due to the Internet explorer, officially ending the development of Netscape in February 2008.
- Opera browser - Opera browser is free and the smallest and fastest web browser in the world. Opera was started in 1994 as a research project by a Norwegian telecom company and in 1995 it evolved into an independent developed company Opera ASA. The Opera software ASA has redefined web browsing for PCs, mobile phones, and other network devices.
- Apple safari - Safari browser is the default browser for Mac system. Safari browser is known for its clean design.
- Google chrome - Google Chrome is a free open source web browser developed by Google. It was released in 2008.
