1) Abacus : - This is an ancient calculating device which was invented in ancient Babylon for the calculation of numbers. It is said to be the world's first calculator. In this, circular beads are threaded in the wires. With the help of which the calculation was made easy.

2)  Pascaline  :-  This French mathematician Blaise Pascal invented the first mechanical calculator in 1642. It could only add and subtract. Hence it was also called adding machine.

3)  Difference and Analytical engine  :-  British mathematician Charles Babbage invented the difference engine in 1822 which ran on steam and could do calculations. In 1842, Charles Babbage created the Analytical Engine, an automated machine that worked according to punch card guidelines and could perform basic arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Lady Ada Augusta :- Lady Ada Augusta put the first program in the analytical engine. Therefore, he is also called the world's first programmer. He is also credited with the invention of the two-digit number system.

4)  Census tabulator  : - in 1890, American scientist Herman Hollerith invented this electrically operated device which was used in the US Census. He is also credited with the invention of punch cards in the form of memory for computer applications.

A punch card is a card made of paper. In which computer data and programs are stored by making holes by punch. The data stored on the punch card was read by the punch card reader.

Before storing data for computers, punch cards were used in the textile industry to control weaving machines.
