1. Speed - The computer can perform millions of calculations in a second. A computer can do the work done by a human in a whole year in a few seconds. The speed of the computer processor is measured in 'Hertz'. At present, the computer can perform calculations in nano seconds. The speed of the computer is measured on the basis of instructions made in the process in one second. At present the computer can process more than one million instructions in a second. Therefore, the speed of the computer is measured in MIPS (Millions of Instructions Per Second).
2. Automatic - Computer is an automatic machine in which the possibility of human intervention during the calculation is negligible. Although instructions are given by man to do the work of the computer, but once given the command, he can work without stopping.
3. Accuracy - Computer calculations are almost error free. Even if any error is found during the calculation, it is due to human errors in the program or data. If the data and program is correct then the computer always gives the correct result. Sometimes computer errors also occur due to viruses.
4. Permanent Storage - The memory used in the computer is used for permanent storage of data, information, and instructions. Since the information in the computer is stored electronically, there is less chance of the information being lost or destroyed.
5. Large storage capacity - Unlimited data and information can be stored in the computer's external and internal storage mediums (hard disk, floppy disk, magnetic tape, CD-ROM). Information occupies less space in the computer, so its storage capacity is huge and unlimited.

8. Versatality - With the help of computer, different types of work can be done. Modern computers have the ability to do different types of work simultaneously.
9. Repetition - By giving orders to the computer, the same type of work can be done again and again with the same reliability and speed.
10. Agility - The computer being a machine is free from human defects. It does not feel tired or bored and works with equal efficiency every time.
